Public Meeting to Discuss the Lafarge North America, Inc. Settlement

Tuesday, August 24, 2010, 7 p.m.
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School Auditorium

The New York State Energy Research Development Authority (NYSERDA), the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), and the Office of New York Attorney General (OAG), will hold a public meeting to discuss the dedication of funds from the settlement of a lawsuit with the Lafarge North America, Inc. cement plant.
As a result of the lawsuit, $490,000 has been provided to NYSERDA to fund environmental benefit projects within 30 miles of the Ravena plant. NYSERDA will use these funds to carry out one or more environmentally beneficial projects authorized by the OAG and DEC that pertain to energy efficiency and/or the reduction of air pollution. Presentations will be given by NYSERDA on the potential projects and will include information on the requirements for participation. In addition, NYSERDA will provide a brief presentation regarding programs offered outside of the environmental benefit projects funded by the settlement of the lawsuit.

The public meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday August 24, at the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School Auditorium, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School, 2025 US Route 9W, Ravena, NY 12143-9000.
